Espresso (pronounced es-PRESS-o) This menu item is simply a shot of espresso. However, all of our specialty coffee drinks are prepared with the Hard Bean Cafe's exclusive 8-bean blend. This espresso is roasted especially for the Cafes and is not available in retail stores. Obviously, the taste of your drink depends largely on the quality of the espresso used. You WILL taste the difference!
Macchiato The true Italian Macchiato is a shot of espresso that is 'marked' with a drop of foam on top. There is no milk stirred in. There are franchises that call their drink a 'macchiato' when it is really a cappuccino. Hard Bean prepares drinks in the classic Italian fashion so you will get a true Macchiato here. The 'Caramel Macchiato' is a misnomer - in truth, it's something that would never be ordered.
Cafe Au Lait (pronounced caFAY-oh-LAY) If you like a lot of milk in your coffee, this is for you. This drink is technically described as 2/3 milk and 1/3 coffee. We make it with slightly less milk. It's your choice of roaster coffee with steamed and foamed milk -- very tasty!
Mocha This is one of the most poplular drinks. People LOVE our mochas! It's a cappuccino made with chocolate sauce and foamed dairy fresh cream and milk. You can also get a 'skinny' mocha if you're watching calories! Or try a 'white chocolate' mocha... Ummmm!
Microbrewed Tea We have over 20 kinds of microbrewed tea: black, green, black/green mixed, red and herbal. Many of our teas include pieces of fruit, flowers and other natural stuff. The medicinal properties of tea can be quite beneficial. Brewed while you wait!
Smoothie A blended ice cream (or yogurt) drink with many varieties to choose from! Try a smoothie from Hard Bean and taste the difference! Made with fresh ingredients -- NOT from a powder mix! Often imitated, never duplicated.
Roaster Fresh
Coffee

various coffees available daily, fresh from the roaster. But you still get
to make a choice! Try them all and see which is your
favorite.
Costa Rican Tarrazu: Lighter roasted beans from Central America. Smooth
and balanced. Tarrazú is celebrated as the
region in Costa Rica for the best
soils and highest altitudes.
Kenya

this fine Kenyan coffee. The main growing areas stretch south from the slopes of
Mt. Kenya almost to the capital of Nairobi. This is our medium roast.
Dark Sumatran Mandehling: These dark roasted beans are from the island of Sumatra,
Indonesia. This high-quality Sumatra coffee is grown near Lake Toba (Mandheling,
Lintong). Distinguished by full body and deep, expansive flavor. The pH of

or heartburn can enjoy this coffee without suffering any ill effects.
Mexican Altura: An excellent Mexican coffee grown in the well-tended plantations
and estates located high in the mountains of the Coatepec region in
Mexico. Noted for its overall balance, delivering a consistently smooth
taste and fragrant flavor. This is our French roast, the darkest of all
roasts.
Two of
our popular flavored coffees are Jazzy Java, a blend of
beans from Panama, Columbia and Brazil
that's flavored with chestnut, pecan, and a hint of rum and cinnamon;
and Jamaican Me Crazy, flavored with wild rum and caramel. We
also have other flavors that vary monthly.
